Look, we didn't start out as some fancy shop with all the bells and whistles. Back in 2012, it was just me and my buddy Marcus working outta a cramped single-bay garage off East Hastings. We'd been wrenching on our own cars for years - track days, street builds, whatever we could get our hands on. People kept asking us to tune their rides, and honestly, we couldn't say no.
Started in a sketchy garage that leaked when it rained. Had one lift, a basic dyno we bought used, and a whole lotta ambition. First big job was a Civic Si that needed a turbo setup - the owner took a chance on us and we didn't sleep for three days getting it perfect. Word spread fast after that.
Moved to a proper two-bay shop on Fraser Street. Invested in a Mustang dyno and some legit tuning software. Started getting into ECU remapping big time - that's when things really clicked for us. We weren't just bolting on parts anymore, we were actually engineering solutions.
One of our builds took 1st place at Mission Raceway - a built Subaru STI pushing 487 wheel horsepower. That win put us on the map. Started getting calls from serious racers and collectors. We realized we weren't just a shop anymore, we were becoming part of Vancouver's performance scene.
Brought on Jamie (suspension wizard) and Devon (exhaust fabrication guru). Having specialists changed everything - we could tackle full builds without outsourcing anything. Also got our ASE certifications that year because, honestly, we wanted to prove we knew our stuff beyond just being gearheads.
Finally landed our current spot at 1847 Commercial Drive. Four bays, dedicated dyno room, proper fabrication area. During the weird pandemic times, we focused on dialing in our processes and upgrading equipment. Installed a climate-controlled tuning bay because ECU work needs consistency.
Got featured in Import Tuner for a wild Nissan GT-R build we did - 850hp on pump gas, streetable, and passed emissions. Also partnered with the BC Performance Racing Association as their official tuning shop. That felt good, not gonna lie.
We're a seven-person team now, working on everything from daily drivers needing a bit more punch to full race builds. Still doing the work ourselves - you won't find us farming stuff out. Every car that leaves here has been touched by people who actually care about what 'performance' really means. We've done over 2,400 builds and honestly, each one still gets us excited.
Here's the thing - we're not about slapping on parts and calling it a day. Every engine's different, every driver's different. A turbo setup that works perfect on one car might be totally wrong for another. We take time to understand what you actually want outta your ride. Track beast? Street sleeper? Weekend warrior? It all matters.
We test everything on the dyno, we log data, we make adjustments until it's RIGHT. Not 'good enough' - right. And yeah, we'll tell you if something's a bad idea. Rather lose a sale than build something sketchy that's gonna grenade on you three months down the road.
At the end of the day, we're just car people who got lucky enough to turn a passion into a business. Come by sometime, grab a coffee, talk shop. Even if you're just thinking about modifications, we're happy to chat through what makes sense for your situation.
